we have a new name!
On 1st November 2023, the Network Board voted to change the name of the North West London Spinal Network to the North Thames Spinal Network.
Our new name, represents the geographical area that the Network covers and the 4 Integrated Care Boards.
New lead nurse appointment
New lead nurse appointment
We are excited to have appointed a Lead Nurse for the Network. We will be sharing this role with the South West London Spinal Network based at St George's Hospital.
This role will be to review and audit our spinal nursing pathways, competencies and training and provide recommendations on how to improve these.
Our new nurse, Liz Moir, started on 4th December 2023.
First NTsn Therapy study day
First NTsn Therapy study day
On the 17th January, we welcomed over 40 therapists to our first NTSN Therapy Study Day, hosted by Charing Cross Hospital.
Agenda included topics on local pathways, spinal masquerades and spinal orthopaedics in secondary care.
We had an update on the Cauda Equina Pathway implementation from David Cumming, National Clinical Director for Spinal Surgery and Neurosurgery for NHS England.
The day was really well received with colleagues enjoying the opportunities for networking and audience engagement.
We look forward to running further study days moving forward.
